Non Surgical facelifting

What is Silhouette Instalift™?

Silhouette Instalift™, also commonly known as the threadlift or facial threads is a nonsurgical approach to the traditional facelift.

The Silhouette Instalift™ is an absorbable suspension suture composed of PLLA (polylactic acid) that is inserted in the face to help reposition sagging tissue.

This nonsurgical suture not only helps lift the skin by reposition sagging tissue, but it also helps revolumize the tissues through the activities of PLLA AND PLGA within the sutures. PLLA, also known as polylactic acid acts as a biostimulator and therefore stimulates collagen and creates gentle volumization. This suture technology acts as a complementary tool to the use of fillers, toxins, as well as energy-based devices in the holistic approach to global facial rejuvenation.

How does the procedure work?

Under local anaesthesia, the suture is strategically inserted in the skin and passes through the subdermal plane (under the skin) in the midface and jawline. The suture contains cones that act as anchors in the skin. The tissue is then repositioned to the desired level of recontouring.

The number of threads used is determined by the treating physician.

Who is a good candidate for the threadlift?

The typical patient is in their mid 30’s to 50 who is experiencing some sagging as well as volume loss in the mid face area. The patient often looks in the mirror and starts lifting the cheek upwards.

The” ideal “candidate for the use of threads is a patient with mild to moderate mid facial laxity. The patient may have a visible nasolabial fold, visible marionette line and loss of definition of the mandibular border. The patient must have skin of sufficient thickness to prevent visibility of the suture or palpability of the sutures.

This is a perfect treatment for the patient who does not want a surgical intervention such as facelift or for patient who is not yet surgical candidate.

This procedure is also ideal for patients with round faces who require reshaping and for whom fillers are not ideal. It can also be used to treat facial asymmetry.

It is also a very good treatment for men who do not want to have a surgical facelift.

This procedure may not be ideal for the patient who has very loose skin and signs of severe skin laxity.
