PRP is part of a new category in medicine, Regenerative medicine. This is an emerging field that allows you to restore damaged tissue due to aging or disease.

What is PRP?

What is the mesolift?
The mesolift is a series of micro punctures of plasma rich with your own platelets into the mesoderm of the skin. This procedure was introduced in Europe and Clinique Antiaging is the first clinic in Montreal to bring this procedure to the forefront of the Montreal arena in the area of aesthetics.
This is performed with an automated air pressure injection system that is virtually painless.
This is a great treatment for areas of thin skin, crêpey skin like the lines around the mouth, the eyes, neck, décolleté and hands. For the thinning skin under the eyes, this is a treatment like no other.
Alternatively, PRP can be injected directly into the skin like a filler for areas that need particular attention, such as the tear trough area or acne scars.
The PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, contains a bath of plasma filled with your own platelets which releases a multitude of growth factors such as EGF (epithelial growth factor), IGF (insulin growth factor), VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), PDGF (platelet-derived growth factors) among others in order to promote wound healing. This capacity to repair is what makes this procedure so interesting and desirable to the sophisticated consumer.
It is also used in various surgical specialties such as vascular surgery, orthopaedic surgery as well as plastic surgery to improve healing and to prevent post op infections.

Treatment for Acne Scars
In the cosmetic non-invasive world, PRP is used either as a microneedling procedure to improve the superficial texture of the skin, or injected like a filler to enhance problem areas.
It can also be used to regenerate scar tissues such as acne scars, stretch marks and the fine wrinkling of the superficial skin.
PRP can also be painted onto the skin as a post-procedure treatment either post mesolift or after a laser resurfacing procedure. This will not only promote the natural healing but also improve the quality of the superficial skin. Results are usually fantastic and well appreciated by our patients.
Treatment for Hair Loss
The clinic has been using PRP in hair restoration for a number of years.
Using the microneedling technique the platelet rich plasma is injected directly into the scalp to help regenerate the hair follicles. This procedure is used in both men and women.
How is the treatment performed?
During the treatment, a small amount of blood is taken from your arm similar to the procedure for a blood test. The tube of blood is then spun in a centrifuge which then separates the red and white blood cells from the platelets and the plasma. This “liquid gold” is then injected into the area of concern. The platelets then stimulate the growth factors to be released to regenerate your own collagen, hyaluronic acid and even new vessel formation.
This is a great treatment for areas of thin crêpey skin such as the lines around your eyes, the neck and décolleté, and the hands. This procedure combined with hyaluronic acid provides beautiful results.
What kind of results can one expect?
Since this is an individual biological product, the result depends on each individual’s capacity for both cell and collagen regenerating capacities.
Who is NOT a candidate?
Patients who are taking blood thinners or platelet altering medication or have platelet disorders should avoid this treatment. Patients who are squeamish of blood may not enjoy this procedure.
Who is a candidate?
Everyone else.
What could be more natural than treating yourself with you?
PRP is an extremely natural procedure that can be used safely in all ages. The goal is to revitalize the skin and improve its integrity.
